I Love Azure Standard

If you’ve been eating real food for long, one thing you’ve probably discovered is that it usually takes many different food sources to fill your real foods kitchen. While I try to buy much of our food locally, I’ve found Azure Standard to be an excellent resource for many whole food staples.

One of my pre-GAPS Azure orders

Azure Standard is a food co-op based out of Dufur, Oregon. They deliver orders by truck to drop points ranging from the West Coast to states as far east as Missouri. To order, you join an existing drop point or establish your own drop point if you have enough people to make the $550 order minimum each month. Each person’s order must be at least $50 to avoid a small order fee.

I love how many GAPS-friendly food items Azure carries. I never have trouble meeting the $50 minimum. I frequently order:

  • Raw almonds and peanuts
  • Cheeses
  • Pastured butter
  • Nut oils
  • Spices and extracts
  • Vinegars
  • Honey and stevia
  • Tomato products in glass jars
  • Coconut aminos

Before I went on GAPS, I also ordered foods like:

  • Whole grains
  • Organic Tortilla chips
  • Rice pasta
  • Dried beans

I have also bought many boxes of glass jars, many bottles of Dr. Bronner’s castile soap and a few natural cleaning supplies.

Their prices are very good. While sometimes I can find a better price at Amazon or Costco, I have found Azure’s prices to be better than the competition for most things. They also carry much more variety than Costco or

Amazon and always seem to be adding new products. Before ordering every month I usually take some time to review what products have been added since the last time I shopped.

I love how easy it is to order from Azure. You just compile and then submit your order online. The drop coordinator will then email everyone to tell them when the pickup will be that month. You show up at the allotted time and collect your items from the truck. Very simple.

Visit Azure’s website to learn more about how Azure works and to find out if there is a drop point near you. I am one of the drop coordinators for the Erie, Colorado drop point, so feel free to email me if you’d like to join our drop!

  1. This is very interesting! My mom purchases from a different co-op quarterly, she loves buying whole foods in bulk. I might have to look more into Azure... I have heard good things about them! Thanks for sharing at Living Green Tuesdays!
