How to Make Mayonnaise

Healthy homemade mayonnaise recipe | Easy homemade mayonnaise | Healthy homemade mayo recipe

Mayonnaise is one of those foods that I refuse to buy in stores. We try our best to stay away from unhealthy industrial vegetable oils (like soy, corn, canola, safflower, etc.) and I have yet to find a mayonnaise that contains none of those oils. So, if I want to eat mayonnaise I have to make it myself. Luckily, making your own mayonnaise is quite simple.

I haven’t eaten commercial mayonnaise in years, so I can’t say how closely this homemade mayonnaise recipe replicates store-bought versions. We find it completely delicious, though, and love eating it with homemade chicken or tuna salad.…

Gluten-Free Cheez-Its

Gluten-free cheez-its | Homemade cheez-its | Gluten-free cheese crackers | Healthy cheese crackers

I have always loved Cheez-Its. Like most processed foods, however, Cheez-Its don’t have the greatest ingredients list, and while I’m not generally opposed to an occasional indulgence, these days I’m gluten-free so commercial Cheez-Its are absolutely off-limits. A few weeks ago I decided to see if anyone had tackled making their own gluten-free copycat Cheez-Its—and to my delight, I discovered that many people had! I tried out this recipe from My Fields of Green, which I subsequently adapted to fit my own preferences.

If you love Cheez-Its, or any other cheesy crackers, you must try these. I haven’t had Cheez-Its in a long time, so I can’t claim to remember exactly what they taste like, but these are certainly fulfilling my Cheez-It cravings.…

Chocolate Orange Ice Cream (dairy-free)

Chocolate Orange Ice Cream Dairy-free coconut ice cream sweetened with honey. Tastes like a chocolate orange!
Do you ever buy those chocolate oranges that are sold around Christmas time? I used to LOVE those, but due to various food restrictions I haven’t eaten one in several years. That flavor combination is one I still think of wistfully, however, so the other day I decided to come up with an ice cream version of a chocolate orange.

My efforts did not disappoint: this ice cream is awesome! I really think it tastes exactly like a chocolate orange in ice cream form (well, at least, what I remember a chocolate orange tasting like). If you like the chocolate plus orange flavor combo, you absolutely must try this ice cream.…

Coconut Berry Fat Bombs: A Delicious Way to Eat More Coconut Oil

Coconut oil fat bombs recipe | Easy fat bombs | Paleo fat bombs | Dairy-free fat bombs

Coconut oil has such fantastic health benefits that I’m always looking for more tasty ways to add it to our diets. One of my favorite creations is these coconut berry fat bombs.

They’re delicious! To me they taste sort of like melted berry ice cream:  flavorful from the berries and creamy from the coconut oil.

I’ve served these to several people, including some non-real food eaters, and everyone who’s tried them has loved them.
