How to Make Coconut Ice Cream: The Ultimate Guide

How to Make Coconut Ice Cream | Homemade coconut ice cream recipe | Paleo coconut ice cream | Dairy-free coconut ice cream

Coconut ice cream makes an excellent real food dessert. It’s bursting with healthy coconut oil, it’s allergy-friendly, and it can easily accommodate whatever substitutions you might want to make. Plus it’s a really fast dessert to make, which is a huge bonus when you’re already spending a lot of time making all of your meals from scratch.

I don’t remember when I first started making coconut ice cream, but I know that I’ve made hundreds of batches. Coconut ice cream is kind of my specialty. 🙂

One of the things that I really like about homemade ice cream is how forgiving it is.…

Peanut Butter Coconut Oil Fudge

Peanut butter coconut oil fudge recipe | Healthy fudge | Dairy-free fudge | Peanut butter chocolate fudge

Have you tried my fantastic coconut oil fudge yet? After I’d made that recipe many times, I decided to switch it up a bit and add some peanut butter. (Because peanut butter and chocolate is, of course, one of the best flavor combinations.) This peanut butter coconut oil fudge is a delicious twist on the original: all the chocolately goodness plus rich, nutty peanut butter flavor.

Like my other coconut oil fudge recipe, I love this recipe because it’s really simple to make and is a tasty way to add more healthy coconut oil to your diet. It also keeps really well in the freezer, so I usually make a double batch and then we get to enjoy it for quite a while.…

Cinnamon Cashew Ice Cream

This cinnamon cashew ice cream is dairy-free and super creamy and delicious. It's also honey-sweetened and suitable for the GAPS and Paleo diets. Try this easy ice cream today!

The other day I felt like making ice cream. Since my chocolate cashew ice cream had been such a success, I figured I’d try making another batch of cashew ice cream. I started out trying to make vanilla, but that was just tasting sort of meh, so I threw in some cinnamon.

Oh man–that was definitely the right decision. This cinnamon cashew ice cream is so good! I know I say that about all of my ice cream recipes, but it’s still just as true. 🙂 (What can I say–we like ice cream! And I don’t post it here unless it’s really good.) I think my cinnamon coconut ice cream is amazing, too, but if you like cinnamon you definitely need to also give this one a try.…

How to Make Cashew Butter

Homemade cashew butter recipe | DIY cashew butter | How to make cashew butter | Paleo cashew butter

Have you tried cashew butter? If you can’t or don’t eat peanut butter, cashew butter is a delicious replacement. It’s creamy and deliciously flavorful. I mostly use it to make these cashew butter chocolate chip cookies, but I also like it on apples or just straight off the spoon.

Making your own homemade cashew butter is really easy. It also much less expensive than buying pre-made cashew butter.

I make my homemade cashew butter with organic roasted cashews that I buy at Costco or Trader Joe’s. You can also make raw cashew butter, but I like the flavor of the roasted cashews so I haven’t tried that yet.…

Grass-fed Butter Mints

Healthy butter mints | Paleo butter mints | Low carb butter mints | Butter fat bombs

Grass-fed butter is a nutritional powerhouse. Experienced real foodies know what I’m talking about, but if you’re new to real food you should check out this post on why butter is good for you. I try to eat grass-fed butter every day, but sometimes my meals don’t particularly lend themselves to being topped with butter. As a result I’ve developed a few candy-like recipes for easily adding some butter to the end of a meal or snack. My newest creation is these grass-fed butter mints.

These butter mints are deliciously creamy, with a minty, almost caramel-like flavor. I love popping a couple of these after a low-fat meal or snack.…
