Grass-fed Butter Mints

Healthy butter mints | Paleo butter mints | Low carb butter mints | Butter fat bombs

Grass-fed butter is a nutritional powerhouse. Experienced real foodies know what I’m talking about, but if you’re new to real food you should check out this post on why butter is good for you. I try to eat grass-fed butter every day, but sometimes my meals don’t particularly lend themselves to being topped with butter. As a result I’ve developed a few candy-like recipes for easily adding some butter to the end of a meal or snack. My newest creation is these grass-fed butter mints.…

Things I Loved in June

Things I Loved in June

Hello everyone! I hope you’re having a wonderful start to your summer.

Things have been a bit challenging here. I know I’ve shared some of my health struggles in the past, so in case you happen to be interested in that SAGA I thought I’d give you an update.

After some recent tests I’ve discovered one big issue that no health practitioner had picked up on before: copper dysregulation. My copper is a mess. You could say that I have copper toxicity, but since copper is actually an essential mineral in our bodies, copper dysregulation is a more accurate term. My bioavailable copper is too low, while my unbound copper is much, MUCH too high. …

The Best Coconut Oil Fudge Recipe

Coconut oil fudge | Clean eating fudge | Healthy fudge | Paleo fudge

This easy coconut oil fudge is a variation on my dairy-free fudge made with cocoa butter. Personally I love the extra chocolaty richness that you get when you use cocoa butter, but I know not everyone wants to track down that somewhat unfamiliar ingredient. So I decided to come up with a coconut oil version.

This coconut oil fudge is great! It’s still dairy-free, but unlike the cocoa butter fudge it’s also rich in coconut flavor. If you’re looking for another way to add coconut oil to your diet, this healthy fudge should be on your must-try list.

If you don’t like the flavor of coconut, you can try using refined coconut oil instead of virgin coconut oil.…

Strawberry Chocolate Chip Ice Cream

Strawberry chocolate chip ice cream | Healthy strawberry ice cream recipe | Coconut ice cream | Dairy-free strawberry ice cream

If I had to call myself an expert in something, I think it would have to be coconut ice cream. Since I stopped eating commercial ice cream 6 or so years ago, I’ve probably made hundreds of batches of coconut ice cream. If you’ve been around the blog for long, you’ve probably seen some these recipes, like cinnamon ice cream, chocolate chip and raspberry coconut ice cream, chocolate mint coconut ice cream, and mint chocolate chip ice cream.  Today I want to share a recipe for one of our new standbys: strawberry chocolate chip ice cream.

I pretty much took the strawberry ice cream recipe from my coconut e-book and added my homemade chocolate chips.…

How to Buy Used Kids Clothes

Buying used kids clothes saves you a ton of money and is great for the environment. Get my top tips for scoring high-quality secondhand clothes for your kids.

I’ve mostly been writing about food lately, but today I want to veer off a little bit to talk about one of my favorite green living topics: buying used kids clothes. Keira will be 3 in a couple of months, and so far nearly all of the clothes I’ve purchased for her have been used. I’m sure that this will get harder as she gets older, but for now I LOVE shopping used.
