Real Food Link Love: September 2012

I love hearing about other people’s favorite posts from around the real food blogosphere. Although I read quite a few blogs, it seems like there’s always so much going on that it’s just impossible to keep up with everything on my own! In that vein, today I want to share a few great posts that I appreciated during September.

I always enjoy reading other people’s thoughts on reusable menstrual products, so I loved Courtney’s post on why she loves her Mooncup. Switching to a Divacup or Mooncup is an easy way to reduce your environmental impact but it doesn’t get discussed nearly as much as I think it should.

These chocolate macaroons look amazing. I especially love that they’re egg-free and look easy to make.

Speaking of cookies, I’m also excited about these grain-free, egg-free chocolate chip cookies. If I can get my hands on some cocoa butter to make chocolate chips (so they won’t melt in the oven!) I’ll definitely be trying these.

I’ve been using my dehydrator a lot lately but I still haven’t gotten around to trying fruit leathers. This fruit leather recipe looks simple and yummy.

Most gravy recipes call for flour or other thickeners that aren’t allowed on GAPS. Not this GAPS gravy! Again, it looks simple and easy. (Are you noticing a theme here? :))

Would you like a chest freezer but don’t know where to store it? Read Mindy’s post on how she fits her freezer in a small space. I actually read this post back when Mindy posted it in the spring but given that’s it’s preserving season, I thought I’d highlight it now. Extra freezer space makes the real food life so much easier.

And just in case you haven’t seen this recipe for homemade sour gummies, oh my gosh…these are amazing! I’ve made these at least six times in the last few weeks. If you ever miss gummy candies you absolutely must try these.

What great posts did you discover this month? Please share in the comments!
