So I’ve been MIA from the blog lately…but with good reason. 🙂 Our daughter, Keira Slocum Lord, was born on August 14th at 3:17 pm, weighing 7 pounds 12 ounces. I had to be induced at 38 weeks because of pre-eclampsia, but thankfully both of us fared very well during labor and Keira is in excellent health. Given that labor inductions don’t always go smoothly, I am very grateful that things turned out so well. I will be sharing her birth story on here as soon as I get a chance to actually write it down.
Thanks to some initial breastfeeding challenges, lingering blood pressure issues on my part, and a killer three week growth spurt, we’ve had a rough first few weeks, but it seems like (maybe?) things are starting to improve. I hope to be able to spend at least a little bit of time blogging in the coming weeks, but if not, know that I will be back eventually! In the meantime, I hope you all are well.
